Well they are definitely right about them being dumb. And clearly they are a trademark violation (I don’t think people should go to jail for that).

They ARE dumb. The people who’d care will know they aren’t brembos, the people who don’t care...won’t care. This impresses no one

I never gave those covers a second look, but always just assumed that at least some of them were official (or officially licensed) merch. There’s obviously a market for this sort of thing, and Brembo could cash in on that if they wanted to. But it makes me smile to see that Brembo has higher standards than that.

The Aichi prefectural police in the Chubu region of Japan have arrested eight people for selling 87 plastic covers originating from China but marked with the Brembo logo.

I agree with Brembo. They are dumb. Now I hope they go after the people who paint “calipers” on drums because they are stupid and need to be locked up, too :p

I’m surprised we haven’t seen any stories of brake failure or accidents caused by melted caliper covers screwing up brakes.

If you’re lucky, you can get Brembos for only a few dollars on Rock Auto’s clearance :p
